Privacy Policy of The World Community for Christian Meditation (HK)

The World Community for Christian Meditation (Hong Kong) (referred to as WCCM (HK)) is strongly committed to protecting personal information. For example, we collect your personal data when you complete the membership form, send us emails, register for events, complete physical forms, Google forms, questionnaires/surveys, visit our web site, use our social media or donate to us.

  • If you are a member, some of the Data we may collect about you include

  • Your full name in English and in Chinese, your title, gender, email address, home phone number, mobile number, home address, your church, and meditation group (if any);

  • If you register for events, the Data we may collect include

  • Your full name in English and in Chinese, your email address, your phone number, age group;

    • If you visit our website, the server will record

  • Your IP address together with the date, time and duration of your visit.

    • Your browsing history, including pages you visited

    • Information about you through cookies, analytic tools, and other similar technologies

    • If you complete our surveys and questionnaires that we may send you from time to time, we may collect Data about

    • Your interests, your areas of expertise, ways in which you can contribute to WCCM (HK)

 

4) How do we use your Data?

We will use the data for the purpose stated at the point of collection including

  • Verifying your identity

  • Compiling our membership roll

  • Creating a mailing list

  • Registering for events, talks and retreats

  • Responding to your enquiry and/or request

  • Sending you newsletters, Advent, Lenten and Easter reflections

  • Providing you with information of meditation groups

  • Providing you with information of upcoming WCCM (HK) events

  • Soliciting volunteers

 

Besides communicating with you, we will also use the data to understand and improve our website, and your user experience.

 

5) Who do we share your Data with?

Any agent or third-party service provider who provides administrative telecommunications, computer or other services to us or supports what we do

 

6) How do we keep your Data secure?

Data held by us will be kept confidential. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure your information held by us is kept secure to prevent it from being lost, used in an unauthorised way, disclosed or altered. Only persons who have a business to know are provided access to personal information collected. 

 

7) How long do we keep your personal information?

We will only retain your Data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

We will keep mailing list contact information until you withdraw your consent and unsubscribe.

Once we no longer need the data, we will either securely delete it or remove it.
